Don't Be Scared Of iPod Video Accessories

Ever experience culture shock in your hometown, or even in the inside of your own home? This kind of culture shock is referred to as "future shock", where technology has changed so rapidly that our brains literally cannot keep up. You might experience it when you learn that the newest generations of iPods – already pretty miraculous as music players – now play videos, too. Not only that, there are now such things as iPod video accessories.

Wow

The iPod video accessories are, for the most part, very practical and help you get the most out of your iPod video phone. They might look overwhelming when you look at a catalogue, but if you focus your attention on just one iPod video accessory at a time, you'll run less of a risk of getting future shock. Think of how you most use your iPod to see if you really need any iPod video accessories.

Docking Stations

Perhaps the most interesting and useful iPod video phone accessory is a docking station ("docks"). Think of a boat needing a home port and that's pretty much what you do with your iPod. These docking stations can be round or rectangular and look a lot like digital clock radios – in fact, most docking stations also offer a digital clock radio feature.

The main advantage is that you can listen to your tunes without having to wear earphones. Speaker technology has gone through changes much like in the computer chip industry – they are now smaller and more powerful than the two foot high speakers you grew up with. These speakers are built in to your docking station.

Skins

Another popular and useful iPod video accessory is called a "skin". All vegetarians don’t need to worry – these "skins" is just another name for a "cover" or "case". Skins are thinner and usually see-through that hug the iPod like a second skin, hence the name. They help protect the iPod from scratches, scruffs, dust and minor dents. They usually come with clips so you can hook it to your belt…kind of like Batman and Robin.

Remote Control

This is a clever and inexpensive iPod video phone accessory. It's not a remote like your TV remote in that it has a wire. You connect it to your iPod and then work the controls with your hands (or toes or nose, I guess). The advantages are comfort and security. You can keep your expensive iPod in your bag, belt clip or armband and still listen to it.
